Ingredients
Eggs - 5
Flour - 1000 gr
Sugar - 226 gr or 1 cup
Salt - 2 pinches
Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
Milk - 200 gr
Vanilla extract- 2 tps
frying/cooking oil
Preparation:
Measure flour, sugar, salt and pour into a mixing bowl. Stir all the dry ingredients together
Bring the butter to room temperature.
Add butter and knead the dough, then add baking powder
In a separate bowl add eggs, milk, and vanilla extract and whisk
Pour half of the liquid into the dry ingredients, using your hand mix together.
Pour the rest of liquid and mix well
Knead the dough and form a ball, place into a bowl, cover with cling wrap paper and place into a fridge. Let chill for 15 minutes while you prepare your working area.
Remove dough from the fridge and transfer into your working space. Cut the dough into 4 equal pieces.
Add flour to your surface to prevent dough from sticking. Knead the dough then roll it out. Do the same for the remaining 3 pieces.
Using a cutter, cut the dough into small square pieces
Sprinkle some flour to the pieces once all cut to prevent sticking together.
In a frying pan, pour your cooking/ frying oil, bring it to medium heat.
Test the oil (drop 1 piece into the oil) to make sure it is ready for frying. Pour the dough pieces into the oil and fry on medium heat while constantly stirring until you achieve a light to medium brown color.
Remove and let cool before serving.
Enjoy!!!
