Cameroonian journalists embark on 2-week course on environment reporting.
Journalists from different media houses in Cameroon will today at the British Council in Yaounde, begin attending a two-week course designed to give them the skills they need to report on the impact of climate change.
The course has been organised by the British High Commission in Yaounde in partnership with the Commonwealth Broadcasting Association.
Anglophone Writers’ Association launches poetry competition.
A national poetry competition fro Cameroonians aged 18 and above and for children between 8 and 17 has been launched by the Cameroon Anglophone Writers’ Association.
The poems in English, that must not exceed 20 lines and must not have been previously published will fetch prizes ranging from 100.000 F CFA down to 25.000 F CFA in the adult category and from 50.000 F CFA to 10.000 F CFA in the children’s category.
According to a release signed by the president of the Anglophone Writers’ Association, John Nkengong Nkengason, competitors have until 30 June 2008 to each submit only one poem, preferably by e-mail attachment to acwapoetrycompetition@yahoo.com.

Still in the South West Province, Mount Cameroon FC Buea recorded their first victory in the competition beating Caiman Douala 2 – 1.
